Whether you're available to help at occasional events or curious about taking on a leadership role, we’d love to hear from you. The PTA is currently looking to fill a few open positions and build a list of “on-call” volunteers we can reach out to throughout the year. We’re also gathering interest from those who might want to step into leadership roles for next school year.

Support this fun reading competition—roles include coaching and event help.

Science Fair

One-time Spring event! Help organize and promote our student-led Science Fair.

Lost and Found

Sign ups for the lost and found would be either coming in to organize and return lost and found (more like a monthly type of commitment for however many months) or washing clothes (quarterly type of work).

Room Parent

Act as a liaison between the teacher, PTA, and families. Ongoing role.

Green Team

Help revive this team! Lead or support sustainability projects at Alameda.

Equity Committee

Seeking a lead to bring back this important group focused on inclusion and equity.

VP Events & Fun

Cultivating a warm, inviting, and fun atmosphere at Alameda is the main responsibility of the PTA Vice President of Events. In coordination with other members of the PTA Board as well as several subcommittees, the Vice President of Events coordinates family fun events, staff appreciation, and community celebrations throughout the school year.

Graphic Designer

Graphic Design Volunteer – Alameda PTA
Want to sharpen your Photoshop or Illustrator skills and get creative beyond corporate work? Help design or update visual assets for school events like Family Movie Night. Use existing templates or create your own!

Design needs may include:

Homepage feature images
Facebook graphics
Newsletter visuals
Posters or banners for school halls
Occasional flyers

Time Commitment: ~4 hours/month, all school year.

Social Media Coordinator

Help manage PTA-related posts on the official Alameda Facebook/Instagram pages. Share event reminders (with calendar links), calls for volunteers, and photos—based on direction from the VP of Communications. Daily posting isn’t needed, but consistent engagement helps the page succeed.

Time Commitment: About 1 hour/week during the school year, plus a few hours in summer for back-to-school promotion. Can be done entirely from home.
